First, dear readers, and you too, KillCowher &RetireJB36, please understand that my split identity as SteelHearted for articles/Swissvale72 for message board is by no means a conspiratorial effort to deceive, but rather a reflection on my lack of computer savvy.Ill blame this somewhat on age..as Ill be hitting 50 next month (the week before Super Bowl!!).I had to come up with a moniker for the articles, it had to be Steel or Still something, and SteelSwissvale just didnt cut it.Not knowing that StillHearted existed, I chose SteelHearted.Keep in mind that Ive required enormous tech assistance from Mill, both in bringing my articles onto the site, and in posting on the message board.So.I wasnt about to fuck with either.Hence, my dual identity.

  1. Bettis, continued:No ones suggested that he offered to take a pay cut, merely that he accepted one without publicly grousing about it, or about his diminished role.I would like to see him block more effectively, Im not as concerned about his below-average abilities as a receiver, but I do know that it was damn good to see him bowling over tacklers on occasion last week.Again, it hardly makes sense to have the level of criticism be directly proportional to ones positive performance.
  2. Everyone probably know this, but..Tomorrows tilt with the Jints obviously significantly affects homefield throughout vs. the Pats, but really has nil affect on our quest for a first-round by, vs. Indy & SD.Assuming Indy wins out, Steelers then have to beat EITHER Ravens or Bills to have a better conference record. If SD wins out, and Steelers beat EITHER Ravens or Bills, the conf record would be tied, but we would win out on common opponents, with a 4-0 vs. 3-1 edge (Browns, Raiders, Jets).
  3. Certainly a much bigger difference between the 2 & 3 seed, vs. the 1 & 2 seed, and both Hines & Plax have indicated that playing in NE would be okay with them. While I think the Steelers are certainly capable of winning at the Razor, I do think that Heinz Field covers up a number of warts for them, and probably matches them up against SD vs. Indy.I know that SD is tougher defensively, Indy is a dome team, etc. but I would still rather take my chances facing Brees than Manning.
  4. Is it possible that were attaching too much import to the concept of Plax/Ben getting their timing back.I tend to think that this is more important for running backs, ala Duce, hitting the hole properly.I never played WR (if you saw me, youd know why), but Im not sure that game conditions are that vital to keeping this position sharp.Plax is running, I imagine hes catchingI know hes not cutting, but maybe a week of drills will adequately prepare him to light up Chris McAlister.
  5. Guess well be rooting for the Ravens on Sunday night.lets hope they win, with reinjured ankles for Heap, Lewis & whatever has been ailing Ogden.
  6. SteelIke.please stay with the board.Believe me, I know it can be frustrating, but your voice is an important and enjoyable one.
  7. Lee Mays will make another play tomorrowSteelers win, 27-10.
