Guest Column - By Still Rage
Lately, I
can't help but notice all the talk about missing Plax. I miss Plax too. Why? I miss Plax because our newfound hero (Ben)
misses Plax. For whatever reason, Ben
chose him to be his favorite. What is really disturbing is that I have heard many
say they would rather sign Plax than Hines if they had to choose. Are they out of their minds?
I like
Plax. I go crazy when he hauls in a
deep pass. He is very capable. But, I
cannot and will not forget how he plays late in the season and in the
playoffs. Dropping easy catches late in
the game. Then, shrugging it off like
it was no big deal. It almost makes me
sick when I think about it. I remember
him on the sidelines after he blew it.
While Kordell would be joking and laughing on the sidelines after
another dismal playoff loss. Just by
the look on his face, I have always questioned how much heart he plays with.
I have NEVER
questioned how much heart Hines plays with.
There is simply no comparison.
Losing Hines would be catastrophic.
The man defines the black and gold!
Even if we dare to consider what Hines has hitis a slump. Rest assured it will not last.
Do I even
dare mention blocking? It's not even
close. I've seen Hines deliver major
blows to linebackers. Plax's blocking
is non-existent. For someone that never
blocks, Plax should have 4 TD catches a game.
I
think the Stillers really began to turn it on around the Cowgirl game. Hines led with 9 catches, again in the
Patsies game with 6. Ben really doesn't
pass for over 200 yards anyway. It
really has never been our style.
Defense, Run, QB doesn't lose the game.
Remember? The point is Plax...
catching one or two long balls every game or so to give him comparable stats
really doesn't put him in the "I'd pick Plax over Hines"
category. If given the choice, I would
pick Ward first over every Stiller. (If
I had to choose)
GO
STILLERS!
