Tommy Maddox Wins Weekly Hard Hat Award (Game #17, vs. Cleveland.)
QB Tommy Maddox is the winner of our weekly Hard Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough, hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still mill.
If you watched the game, then you understand why little more need be said about Tommys performance. As I alluded to in last weeks HH column, Tommy Maddox becomes more and more Montana-like with each passing game (pun most definitely intended). He wins pretty and he wins ugly. But, regardless of how he does it, he WINS, more often than not. In his heyday with the 49ers, no lead was ever safe against Montana. So it was this Sunday with Maddox against the hated Browns. Maddox, in as much as it is possible in the ultimate team game that is football, won that game single handedly (or should I say single arm-edly?). His will to win is why Stiller fans worldwide were delirious this afternoon around 4 pm. Granted, he had some help from Ward, Plax, ARE and his TEs, but make no mistake about it, Maddox was the driving force that produced the thrilling, come from behind victory to crush the hopes of clowns fans everywhere. Not Cowher nor Mularkey, not Zeroue nor Fu, not Porter nor Bell nor the D-line. Maddox. All Hail the TRUE gunslinger of the AFC North:
The Mad Ox himself, Tommy TommyGuns Maddox.
If you did NOT watch the game, then shame on you! What kind of Stiller fan are you anyway?
Kudos to Tommy for winning the weekly Hard Hat Award. Wear it proudly, Tommy!!
Note: Honorable mention goes to LB Kendrell Bell for his hard-hitting, gutsy play all afternoon. Sorry KB, but this one goes to Tommy alone. We are sure you understand why. Get well soon, we are going to need you against Tennessee.
