.2.Philadelphia Eagles7-0The state of Pennsylvania with a combined record of 13-1 sits atop the ratings. Barring a tie the state will definitely suffer their second loss of this season this coming week.
.7.Pittsburgh Steelers6-1Matched their win total from last season and marked themselves as legitimate contenders with a dominating victory to end the Patriots 21 game winning streak. Now get the opportunity to beat undefeated teams in back-to-back weeks with the Eagles coming to town.
.1.New England Patriots6-1Injuries could make starting a new winning streak difficult.
.8.New York Jets6-1Curtis Martin and Lamont Jordan bludgeoned the Dolphins on the ground during a lopsided prime time game that was difficult for anyone except Jets fans to watch.
.11.Atlanta Falcons6-2Scored 31 unanswered points in Denver after falling behind 14-3. Michael Vick remains a dangerous weapon when allowed to freelance.
.12.New York Giants5-2The New York media has already started the Tiki Barber for MVP campaign. It isn't just hype.
.3.Minnesota Vikings5-2Deja vu all over again.... Last year the Vikings were flying high at 6-0 when the Giants whacked them in the Metrodome and sent them into a tailspin. Will the same thing happen again?
.18.Kansas City Chiefs3-4Offensive explosion has them back in the hunt for a playoff spot.
.4.Jacksonville Jaguars5-3A funny thing happened as they drove for another last second win. Byron Leftwich was picked off for a game clinching touchdown. Has the magic spell been broken? The possibility that Leftwich will miss multiple games due to a knee injury could pose problems.
.5.Indianapolis Colts4-3Defense got torched for a mind-boggling 590 yards and 45 points. The Chiefs are on a roll, but that is ridiculous.
.14.San Diego Chargers5-3Drew Brees continues to make himself a ton of money as he heads toward unrestricted free agency. This week he was 22 of 25 with 4 touchdowns and no interceptions.
.6.Denver Broncos5-3In a mini slump. The decision to abandon the running game and base the offense almost solely on the right arm of Jake Plummer the last 2 weeks has to be considered curious.
.15.Houston Texans4-3The dolt of the week award goes to Jabar Gaffney. Walking into the endzone untouched on an end-around Gaffney started his celebration a yard too early and fumbled. The result was a loss of possession and touchback. Luckily for Gaffney the Texans managed to win anyway.
.13.St. Louis Rams4-3Loss to the Dolphins before the bye looks even more brutal after watching the Jets crush Miami on MNF.
.9.Baltimore Ravens4-3Defense is no longer quite good enough to overcome the 30th ranked offense. Kyle Boller has to be a major concern despite pronouncements from Brian Billick to the contrary. The average of only 122 yards passing per game is by far the worst in the league.
.16.Green Bay Packers4-4Riding a 3 game winning streak that has again made them players in the NFC Central.
.17.Seattle Seahawks4-3Much needed home win over Carolina to halt 3 game losing streak was far from convincing.
.10.Detriot Lions4-3Lost their first road game in Dallas. Simply could not overcome the loss of Roy Williams to an ankle injury.
.22.Tennessee Titans3-5Got a desperately needed win heading into the bye with Billy Volek subbing for the injured Steve McNair.
.23.Dallas Cowboys3-4Succeeded against the Lions by pounding the ball with Eddie George to take pressure off Vinnie Testerverde. Expect Parcells to try more of the same.
.19.New Orleans Saints3-4Come off the bye to face the surging Chargers on the road in a game that looked like a gimme when the schedule first came out.
.20.Cleveland Browns3-4Not in an envious position this week. Head to Baltimore to face a Ravens team looking for revenge for a week 1 loss in Cleveland. Not to mention that Ray Lewis will most likely be in a worse mood than usual after watching Terrell Owens mimic him in the endzone.
.21.Tampa Bay Buccaneers2-5Defense can't be too excited about the upcoming visit from the Chiefs.
.30.Buffalo Bills2-5The 2003 draft day gamble on Willis McGahee is finally starting to pay off.
.32.Chicago Bears2-5Craig Krenzel will probably never be a legitimate starter on a contending team, but he has already had a better pro career than Jonathan Quinn.
.24.Washington Redskins2-5The Redskins 98 points for the season are 3 less than the Chiefs have scored in the last 2 games. This week's loss was especially brutal. The apparent go ahead touchdown was called back on a contoversial illegal motion penalty with under 3 minutes remaining. On the next play Mark Brunnell threw an interception. Four Ahman Green runs and 36 yards later the Packers iced the game with a touchdown.
.24.Cincinnati Bengals2-5The problems here really have little to do with the decision to start Carson Palmer over Jon Kitna. The main issues are on the defensive side of the ball.
.26.Arizona Cardinals2-5Have lost 17 straight road games.
.27.Carolina Panthers1-6Season wrecked by injury. This week's trip to Oakland gives them the opportunity to feel a bit better about themselves.
.28.Oakland Raiders2-6The wheels have come off. Warren Sapp getting in Norv Turner's face on the sidelines was almost as embarrassing as giving up 42 points to a divisional rival.
.29.San Fransisco 49ers1-6Ken Dorsey is now 0-2 as a starter against Craig Krenzel. Of course their 2002 meeting in the Fiesta Bowl for the National Championship had a lot more meaning than last Sunday night's matchup of also-rans.
.31.Miami Dolphins1-7Ricky Williams officially filed the paperwork to be reinstated. Maybe the Dolphins will be able to trade him for a second rounder once he serves the inevitable suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
