Hard Hat Award (Game #13, vs. NY Jets)
Stiller LB James Farrior is the winner of the weekly Hard
Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough,
hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still
mill.
Farrior led the way on defense with a superb all-around effort, leading the team with 11 solo tackles. Farrior did more than just tackle, of course. He helped bottle future Hall of Fame RB Curtis Martin, holding the Jets' star back to just 72 yards rushing. Farrior also applied some pressure on the QB on multiple occasions. And, lest we forget, Big Game James made a tremendous, 1-handed tap-and-grab of a Pennington pass, thwarting a Jets' drive in Stiller territory with a superlative INT. This is precisely the kind of tough, hard-nosed, never-say-die linebacking that allows a defense to win the tight, tough ballgames.
Kudos to Farrior for winning the weekly Hard Hat Award. Wear the Hard Hat proudly, Jamie!
