Hard Hat Award (Game #10, @ Cinci)
Stiller RB Jerome Bettis is the winner of the weekly Hard
Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough,
hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still
mill.
The Committee deliberated long and hard, as there were many a player that deserved a long look, including Boy Polamalu, Dan Kreider, and even Chris Gardocki. In the end, The Big Bellyback, Jerome Bettis, won out, due to a strong effort in the win over the Bungals. The Doughboy came to the aid of a wobbly offense and plunged the ball 29 times for 129 yards. Time and time again, The Plunger was able to move the sticks, or set up short 2d down yardage, with effective plunges that moved the ball and chewed the clock. The Bus rolled over the hapless Bungals en route to the Stillers' 9th win of the season.
Kudos to Bettis for winning the weekly Hard Hat Award. Wear the Hard Hat proudly, Bus!
