The home-field advantage is looking might good through the Black and Gold glasses:

-          Our buddy, StillMill, would have had an orgasm if his buddy Dan Kreider knocked Ray Lewis back 4 yards on a run. If the Hard Hat Award is truly awarded for the reason Mill says it is, for the Stiller who best demonstrates the city of Pittsburgh, and SmashMouth football, then Jerome Bettis should have already won this weeks award. Heck, if the award is given to the game MVP, which it has been awarded this year, then the award should still go to Bettis.

-          The Stillers could beat Buffalo, then sweep through the playoffs and Super Bowl, and Cowher would get blamed for something by some people here. Heck, maybe it will be Bills fault that the game time temp inJacksonville is only 70 instead of the usual 75. Cowher has done an outstanding job this year, in every aspect. Yesterday, Ben said he could go back in, and went back in. When he winced after the pass to Plax and signaled to come out, he got the next play, which was the screen, and he said he could throw a screen. So, instead of calling a timeout, he stayed in the game for one play and threw the screen, until Maddox was ready to come in. If there is any blame, it could go to Maddox for not having his helmet on or at least holding it on the sideline. BUT, Ben said he was OK. Heck, Im going to blame Cowher for us not having a white Christmas.

-          Oh, it was so good to see Plax back out there. A healthy Plax, combined with how well ARE has been playing lately, the emergence of Lee Mays, a healthy Bus and (hopefully) Duce, and future opponents defensive coordinators have got to be shaking in their shoes.

-          Again, contrary to others (ahem, StillMill step forward), this has not been an easy 7 game stretch since the dismantling of NE and Philly. Games at Cincy and Cleveland are never easy (Mill picked the Stillers to lose at least one of them), Washs defense is almost as good as ours,Jax was playing for their playoff lives, the Jets wanted to prove they could play with the big boys, and the Giants still had playoff hopes. Every week, after a win, it seemed like something was exposed on the team, whether it was the secondary, or the deep passing game without Plax, the defense as a whole was shaky at times, the O Line looked suspect at times..But, it didnt seem to matter. Every week someone else stood up, some more than others (Bettis, Farrior), while some stepped up their game when needed, such as Harrison the last few weeks. There is something special about this team, and I believe we need to sit back and watch these games as Steeler fans first, and then, if needed, go back and break down the tape.

-          Nice game yesterday, San Diego. Just to let you Chargers fans know, beating Cleveland in the snow last week is a whole lot easier than coming to Pittsburgh on Jan 15th or 16th. Oh, San Diego fans, you may want to worry about the Jets first.

-          By the way, StillMill and myself have been friends for years, so Im allowed to pick on him about his infactuation with some players, and his total disdain for others, no matter how well they play.

-          I think we play the regulars enough this week, along with people like Scott, Bell, Duce getting some reps, that we beat Buffalo. I went to a Stiller-Jill game in Buffalo in 83 (I think). Stillers lost, but the tailgating in Buffalo is awesome. Stillers 20 Jills 13.
