Hard Hat Award (Game #14, @ NY Giants)
Stiller WR Antwaan Randle El is the winner of the weekly Hard
Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough,
hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still
mill.
The diminutive slash from IU led the Stillers offense on Sunday with a remarkable all-around effort. Antwaan hauled in 5 passes for a career high 149 yards, including a key 35-yard TD bomb. El also went up on a poorly thrown pass and out leapt two defenders, which resulted in a key 36-yard gain in the 4Q. Not content to just catch TD passes, El passed for a TD as well, hitting RB Verron Haynes with a lil' shovel pass for the score. This was no gimme play, as El took a beating from an onrushing DL who had a clear shot at El. Like hard hatters do, El showed no fear, calmly and neatly flipping the ball to Haynesie for one of the shortest TD passes (actual distance-wise via air) that the NFL has ever seen.
Kudos to Randle El for winning the weekly Hard Hat
Award. Wear the Hard Hat
proudly, Antwaan!
