Some thoughts through the Black and Gold glasses, watching the game where the second biggest Steelers fan in the room was a 6-year old who never quite figured out we were the ones wearing the black jerseys.

  • Ive read the criticism of Cowher, both here and in the papers, talk shows, etc. Heck, Ive even called him names for his non-ability to win the big games. But, there is something different this year. Whether it was the 6-10 record of last year and/or all the criticism of his contract extension, but Cowher is different this year. He has his old drive back. My game ball for the total desturction of the Patriots goes to Bill Cowher!
  • Casey who? Chad who? An over-exaggeration on missing Casey, but probably not on Chad. Of course we missed Casey, but it seemed every time you looked up, Chris Hoke was in the backfield, causing havoc. The secondary played good. What an interception by Taylor! I would assume that since the Pats threw like 1000 passes in a row that Taylor was on the field quite a bit.
  • Porter is a beast, for this game at least. Lets see him keep this up. Or, what would also be nice is if the Beagles concentrate so hard on stopping Porter on Sunday that Haggans has the same kind of game this week that Porter just had.
  • Did anyone know that when Kruczek went 6-0 that year that he didnt throw a TD pass? That he didnt throw a TD pass in his career? I know the Defense only allowed like 23 points in that 9 game win streak after the 1-4 start, but I never knew Kruczek didnt throw a TD pass.
  • The Bus has gotten a lot of flak, here and everywhere. But, we need him. It was nice to be able to lift Duce after 25 carries and let The Bus keep the running game moving. Most of the time this year, when Bettis has been in, the defense has known we were going to run. But, Sunday, the Pats knew we were going to run, and we still did. Granted, the O Line was kicking some serious ass, but Bettis looked good on Sunday.
  • Anyone here think that if Owens tries one of his tricks Sunday that Troy or Porter or someone from the Defense doesnt blast him so hard hell be calling for his mommy?
  • Stillers 27 Beagles 14 this week, as the march to Super Bowl 39 moves on!
