Former Steeler O-lineman Oliver Ross signs with Pats

Given our O-line situation, I'm not sure Ross wouldn't have been of some help to us.
(some other random player transaction news at the below link also.)

Oliver Ross, T (NE.)

The New England Patriots on Monday signed Ross, a 10-year veteran who was sidelined for the 2007 season.
Ross spent two seasons with Arizona before missing all of last season with a triceps injury. He has played in 89 games with Dallas, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Arizona.

Same story, different source

The New England Patriots on Monday signed offensive lineman Oliver Ross, a 10-year veteran who was sidelined for the 2007 season.

Ross spent two seasons with Arizona before missing all of last season with a triceps injury. He has played in 89 games with Dallas, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Arizona.

He was drafted by the Cowboys in 1998 in the fifth round but his longest stint with any team was with the Steelers from 2000 to 2004. He started all 16 games for Pittsburgh at right tackle in 2004.

Wonder what he has left in the tank? Pats are pretty good at pick these old vets.

The year Oliver Ross left Pittsburgh, he started the entire season at RT and played very, very well. He absolutely dominated Jevon Kearse and had a bunch of other very good games. His play earned him a hefty contract in Arizona. Since that time, he's been an injury waiting to happen, but Ross showed up huge in 2004.

I always liked Ollie's mean streak. Hate to see him as a Patriot, though.

He started because there was no one else to put out there. That was the year we shuffled the o line around and he sucked. I hope he starts for them. That guarantees a few sacks on shady brady.

The 'Freak' was on the downside of his career already in 2004. Ross did a good job but he wasn't all that. Many a guru told us Ross' departure was going to devastate the Steelers line. Didn't happen.

Ross doesn't bring much to the table. He is an emergency stop gap while the Pats wait to see what happens to Kaczur.
Could you really be that fuckin' dumb?
