4-12 ?

Postby PGHeaven » Thu Aug 22, 2013 12:57 am

With an O-line like we have got? With a weak RB situation? With weak TE situation? With an inferior receiving corps? With an underachieving D-line? with a sieve secondary? Special teams that should be in the special olympics?

Well PGHeaven... I am not sure it is completely panic time...BUT...these two preseason games have looked like shit. They exposed problems with personnel. Sure the scheme is vanilla as they aren't giving away the playbook but you got some problems on this team. Defense did not get upgraded in terms of players and it was not dominant last year. Polamalu is aging to where he is not the playmaker he once was... Harrison is way better than that kid replacing him. The offense lost Wallace's speed to stretch the field and Miller. Who knows if they can run the ball... I suspect not. This one could be 7-9.

I've been a Steelers Fan since 1988, which incidentally was the worst Steelers Team I've seen at 5-11.

I don't know about 4-12, but put it this way; It wouldn't surprise me to see a 2nd straight season of missing the playoffs.(which hasn't happened since 1999 and 2000 here)

Right now it def. doesn't look good....

Well I would not say it is panic time. That is only because it was clearly evident throughout preseason and at the time of the 53 man cut that this sorry gaggle was going to stink the place up. 4-12

Time to bring up the same premise I put forth in 2009 . When did this cancerous rot first appear in the Steelers organization? Where did the gangrene first appear? I say it was when old Danny boy accepted the bow and scrape appointment to that Irish castle from the other hideous joke in the USA. Barack Hussein Obama

4-12? Ha-ha.... Try 1-15..... If we didn't play the Clowns, we could even be 0-16.

The Titans are not a good team. It was 27th in the Power Rankings coming into the game. The only problem with the Titans is that the possible delusions of being an "elite team" will likely fizzle next week.

You called this year sucking to an extreme! I still think that the bums will win enough to fuk up their draft position. They need to be top ten and watch--they will win six games and draft 16.

Len so far Heaven seems to be 100% right.

The Remaining schedule

Bills
Lions
@Browns
@Ravens
Dolphins
Bengals
@Packers
Browns

For all the Bullsh*t from Tomlin we are 2-6. There are 7 teams contending for the last wildcard spot at 4-4 or 4-5 ( Browns). Next one we lose we are almost mathematically out of the playoff... before thanksgiving. There will be a lot of players giving up.

For all the talk regarding Cowher and his down years I went back and check. Cowher, in his worst seasons, had a couple of 6 -10.

I am 100% sure that we do not reach 6 wins. I am 95% sure that LeBeau will "retire" at the end of the season and bring some players with him ( Clark for sure, Troy a strong chance, Ike depending on how the season ends).

But kudos to Heaven. I was smelling a very bad season. But his prediction is getting more accurate with each game.

Ohio-- yes that is definitely a schedule with no sure wins with this team. The quit factor is going to be really strong. It is veteran team and as you point out many will figure not to be back, so why risk your health? Playing second stringers or rookies won't matter either.

I went back and looked up the salary cap by player. That is a dismal thing too. You have many veteran players not producing and occupying space. Fudge.. Hood is like ten on the cap list and he is just not worth that. Damn Woodley is number three... as Mill says you sure don't get much for 61 million..

Yeah so not 4-12 but PGH correctly called the way they would start after seeing just two preseason games. And we have not beaten the ratbirds yet.

Disregard my last post obviously.
5 straight runs to start the game while Flacco moon balls to victory.
Fuck our coaches. Seriously.

I hate to be that guy but, based on everyone else's upcoming schedules, I think we still squeak in as the 6 seed if we win out. We need a little help but Cincy plays the Colts, us and the Ratbirds (yes, the North title is still a possibility), the rats play the Lions, Pats and bungles, the Titans play Denver, Arizona and Houston, and Miami plays us, the Pats, Jets and Bills. (I left out the Vikings and Jags on people's upcoming list for obvious reasons)

Even if you concede the North (which even my polyanna ass has to at this point) we just need to gain one game on the Dolphins, Titans and Ratbirds. We play the dolphins, the Titans will lose to the pats, the Rats play at the lions and at the bungles (they are not good on the road) and even the hosting of NE is trouble for them. Even if they only lose one and we win out and both teams finish at 9-7 we could squeak by on the tiebreaker. (see below)

Two Clubs
1.Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
2.Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
3.Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
4.Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
5.Strength of victory.
6.Strength of schedule.
7.Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8.Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9.Best net points in common games.
10.Best net points in all games.
11.Best net touchdowns in all games.
12.Coin toss (tails never fails)

All I'm sayin' is, now that we have gotten too many wins to get a great draft pick and Tomlin's asinine behavior cost us even getting a good one I say we sneak in the back door and win the whole damn thing!!!

fry, dude, get a hold of yourself. For you know that even if we beat the fins, bungles, and fudgepackers, we will manage to lose to the Browns at home on the last day of the season if a win would get us a spot. It's inevitable with this team.

isfry - I was going to post something similar but didn't have the balls!

I guess neither one of us is ready for the season to end, despite the huge, blood-red writing on the wall.
