GAME THREAD - Steelers vs Bungals

Postby Ohio » Mon Sep 16, 2013 7:33 pm

Do or Die

Tonight we are either reborn or gone

There is no Tomorrow.

I will watch very carefully the Center ( should be Velasco but we never know...) and the return of James Harrison.

I will tell you in advance... If we do not improve offensively I hope we lose. Suck for Luck baby

Great first Drive

RUN RUN AND... SURPRISE RUN

Then with a good punt you give the ball to the opponents.

THAT'S A GAME PLAN

3 - 0

Given the field position is a defeat.

Offense produced 8 yards ( actually even less. They were on a 3rd and 16 )

Special team made some 70 yards...

Paulson fumbles at the end of a 30 yard run. Few plays later Eifert goes for 61.

Some of you may remember I was rooting for a TE with the pick that eventually went to Jarvis Jones.

Anyway... 7 - 3 Bungals and let's see what else is in store.

Seems wide open even if we still do not have any running game ( anyway Redman is out so we are playing with Felix Jones as a starter and Dwyer as back-up. Which basically says that we are playing with two guys were cut about a month ago

Our defense is not up to steelers standards.

Inability to stop the run up the middle is making me miss fat Casey.

For the first time since the Mark Malone days, I watch the Steelers thinking they're not even going to have a chance to win.

The difference in team speed is pathetic..... The Steelers have so much deadwood on the roster, it isn't even funny.

Kevin Colbert has got to go. He can't find good players anymore.

Well I partially agree. He could have stayed but as a back up only. His last couple of season were subpar. If he was the one of 5 years ago then it's a different story.

Anyway 10 -3 bungals... Let's see if our offense does something different. We have moved the ball only in one drive while the bengals are moving the ball quite easily. They have stopped themself offensively with errors ( flags and drops). Our defense doesn't stop nobody anymore

One more punt

Ben is 2 for 8 42 yards... Is it only me or he looks like he is ALWAYS on a different page from the receiver ? If the Bengals score now I think it is already enough points to win the game. I doubt Haley's Offense can score 17 points on anybody

Dalton played on Shamarko Thomas ( 29 ) in this drive. Good for us it didn't work out

Is it me, or is Ben's velocity way down? He's lofting the ball, and the Bungle safeties are ready to pick one.

Ben has to realize that the secondary he's going to face in real games will be far better than those he faces in practice. I realize it's hard to simulate a good secondary when your own secondary is substandard. Ben and Todd Haley has to pretend the defenders are five yards closer to the receiver.

I watch this game, it's like watching a Big Ten team playing an SEC team.....

I stopped watching the game. It's too painful to watch. We have the worst secondary in the NFL, backup linebackers, and a green line. On offense, we have linemen who can't move the line (although the new center might turn out to be better than Pouncey), and running backs who don't anticipate the holes.

The only part of the Steelers team that's decent, at least tonight, is the special teams. I do notice an improvement in hang time with this Mesko guy.

That's what I was saying.

Anyway I do not know if you notice :

Sanders and Brown going out of the field and Hailey tries a reverse. Are you kidding me ?

You are on the field with the third and fourth receiver. TE we do not have anymore ( Paulson will be lucky to see the field after the fumble. Maybe next year he will see a ball thrown his way). Our RB gained some yards only on a 3 and long. It is a normal result to lose yards.

FIRE HAILEY NOW

Ben makes some quick no Huddle plays and puff 19+ 43 yards.

Mill could make a report on this. So far special team and hurry up have gained twice the Yards of Mr Hailey.

Chiefs may Suck but you are complete LOSER

10 - 10 at Halftime. We can consider ourself lucky. Bungals played better but do not have points to show for it.

One last thing. Final play of the Half : Hail Mary. Our defense was not ready and the Bungals nearly miss a TD.

Usually when it is a Hail Mary you have a defender elected to be the JUMPER and others that have to CLEAR THE FIELD with little fouls. We did not have anything of that and SHAMARKO THOMAS WHO IS 5-8 JUMPED FOR THE BALL. How is it possible??? And we had all the time in the world to prepare for the Hail Mary. It was not a quick or unexpected play.

I bet Mill will write something about it in the game report

We go no huddle. Brown for 33 yards. The referee sees a TRIPPING WITH GILBERT. Actually he was Holding. Anyway we punt again.
