Wearing a left elbow brace, Chris Kemoeatu practiced Monday afternoon for the first time since the Steelers started training camp. Kemoeatu, who is No. 1 at left guard on the depth chart the Steelers released yesterday, had been on the physically unable to perform list because of a triceps injury he sustained before the start of camp.
"I've got to do some cardio and get into shape, but other than that everything felt good," the fourth-year veteran said. "I still feel kind of feel of whack, but give it a couple of days."

Kemoeatu hurt his triceps, he said, when he was training in his native Hawaii with his brother Ma'ake Kemoeatu, who plays for the Carolina Panthers. The two were running steps, Chris Kemoeatu said, and he missed one and landed on a railing and on his left elbow. The 6-foot-3, 344-pounder said he would have to wear the protective brace for "the next couple of weeks." Kemoeatu, who is expected to replace seven-time Pro Bowler Alan Faneca, will have to play catch-up over the next couple of weeks.

"He's a professional," Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said, "and I'm sure he'll catch up relatively quickly."
