Steelers sign veteran kick returner Drummond
Thursday, July 31, 2008
By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The Steelers today signed veteran kick returner Eddie Drummond, a Pittsburgh native who played at Penn State, after he worked out with the team this morning.

Drummond, 28, played five seasons for Detroit and the last one in Kansas City, primarily as a kick and punt returner. His best season came in 2004 when he made the Pro Bowl after returning two kickoffs and two punts for touchdowns. He became an unrestricted free agent in March.

Drummond attended a private high school, the Linsly School in Wheeling, W.Va.

The Steelers have a roster spot open after they placed punter Daniel Sepulveda on injured reserve, waived-injured wide receiver Kevin Marion and claimed punter Paul Ernster off waivers from Detroit.

They continue to play "grab ass."

OK. Who among us can shed some light on management and the coaches thinking on this one? I'm at a loss.

Here's another story about Drummond.
Capizi was cut.
Sweed has a vision problem, but they think they have fixed it.

Sure have been a lot of x-lions in black and gold since Colbert came here from detroit.

Also, what is with the Steelers always looking to sign PA guys?

ALOT of talented football players come from PA and the appalachian area. I don't know if it's so much a case of them looking for guys from that area as it is a case of the talent pool just being saturated with them.

Obviously, I did absolutely no research on this, just some food for thought.

Interensting about swede,

It sounds like limas had problems picking up the ball on one side. I wonder if this unknown was something that could have been a factor for him dropping to he steelers late in the 2nd round.

Now that hes seeng 20/20, he could possibly a much better reciever then any scout thought he could be!
