Steelers- The offical Obama NFL team

Postby Rocklobster » Mon Oct 27, 2008 11:18 pm

Dateline Pittsburgh's Civic Arena: In front of thousands Team owner Dapper Dan Rooney on Monday announced the Steelers are Obama's team and presented the senator with a team jersey with Obama on the back and the number 08. The crowd broke into the familiar chant 'here we go Steelers here we go' followed by 'here we go Obama here we go' Good to know ownership infuses personal beliefs into the team colors. :suahhbs:

Hey- the Steelers can only compete because the NFL is socialist.

What do you expect?

Hope we have better luck with Obama than the Flyers and Blues have had with Palin. She dropped the puck at the Flyers' home opener, and they lost six in the row. Then she went to St Louis, and the goaltender tripped on her blue carpet and was injured, unable to play. Talk about bad luck!!!

Let's all hope Barack doesn't jinx the Steelers. And let's wish whoever wins next Tuesday the best of luck. They'll certainly need it.

Clearly Obama is weak on Security .... just look at how he is holding the rock.
and this guys wants to hold the nuclear "football" :D

But seriously, Rooney shouldn't interject politics into football.
Once upon a time the NFL knew that. Remember the NFL played a game just two days after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on Nov. 22, 1963.

Is Franco playing the role of Secret Service agent? Nice trenchcoat. :surockin:

Yes, the political connection suprises me also.

And it make me wonder if there is a wee bit more involved than simply politics here.

McLovin disdains politics and religion both of which the Rooneys are into big time. McLovin wants to know what the Rooneys have to gain by backing Obama. McLovin thought Obama was a tax the rich and give to the poor type. Are the Rooney's even democrats? Are they converting from Catholicism to Muslim? Do they want Obama to invest in the team or as mentioned hire him as new offensive coordinator?

No he wouldn't, because he'd take even longer to call the play in.

"Um...the...ah...uh..play is...um...um...60 prevent....uh....uh...um...slot...um..hook and..."

And then Ben's radio cuts out.

I am losing respect for the Rooney Family. Dan you did alot for the NFL and the "Rooney Rule" is great, but stop trying so hard.
You already hired a coach that wasn't ready on day one so why endorse a marxist that isn't ready to be President
yet and hopefully will never have the chance with his radical associations?

Barack Obama graduated at the top of his class from Harvard law school (the best in the world arguably), was president of the Harvard law review, and taught Constitutional law. He turned down six figure jobs after graduation to work in dirt poor communities in Chicago and made peanuts (I think $20K a year and had to borrow a couple thousand from his boss to drive a POS car). Not sure where you all get the impression that he's anything BUT highly intelligent and imminently qualified for the job.

And, you don't know what the hell marxism is beside the fact that Republicans call Democrats communists for daring to have different political ideas. Funny, McCain has been pimping Obama's relationship with this muslim ex-PLO spokesman yet he gave the same guy $500,000 dollars.

Once again Godfather proves he doens't know what he is alking about.
If fact:

Obama has never released records from his time at Harvard Law School.

Obama won’t release his college records from Occidental College either where he studied for two years before transferring to Columbia.

Obama’s campaign refuses to give Columbia University, where he earned an undergraduate degree in political science, permission to release his transcripts. Such transcripts would list the courses Obama took, and his grades. President George W. Bush, and presidential contenders Al Gore and John Kerry, all released their college transcripts. (McCain has also refused to release his Naval Academy transcript.)

Obama’s college dissertation has simply disappeared from Columbia Universities archives. In July, in response to a flurry of requests to review Obama’s senior thesis at the Ivy League school, reportedly titled “Soviet Nuclear Disarmament,” Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt told NBC News “We do not have a copy of the course paper you requested and neither does Columbia University.”

Pretty secretive about his education. By the Way - WHO PAID FOR IT because he had NO STUDENT LOANS?

BUT IT DOESN'T STOP THERE, aspects of Obama’s public and private life continued to be shielded from the public.

Among the examples:

The senator has not agreed to the release of his application to the Illinois state bar, which would clear up intermittent allegations that his application to the bar may have been inaccurate.

Obama has released just one brief document detailing his personal health. McCain, on the other hands, released what he said was his complete medical file totaling more than 1500 pages. After criticism on the matter, the Obama campaign also released some routine lab-test results and electrocardiograms for Obama. All test results appeared normal, but many details about his health remain a mystery.

Obama has refused to offer his official papers as a state legislator in Illinois, and has been unable to produce correspondence, such as letters from lobbyists and other correspondence from his days in the Illinois state senate. There are also no appointment calendars available of his official activities. “It could have been thrown out,” Obama said while on the campaign trail during the Democratic primary. “I haven’t been in the state Senate now for quite some time.”

Obama also has not disclosed the names of small donors giving $200 or less to his campaign. An exception to the finance-reporting laws exempts the campaign from reporting those who donate less than $200, but that law never envisioned the more than $300 million that has been raised by Obama in small amounts. The Republican National Committee has released its small donors, as well as McCain’s, on a public database.

As for the claim that he is "imminently qualified "

You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.
You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.
You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.
You couldn't join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.
You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.

BUT....

From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator,
to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee,
he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate.
That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.

WHAT HAS HE ACTUALLY DONE?

FINALLY,
"Spreading the Wealth Around" is NOT a daring new political idea. Look at History, It's been tried, and it has failed.
