Well put, Palmer. A truly one-of-a-kind player. I thought I had imagined that someone had indicated that Mitchell might move over and Sharko might get a shot at safety (I recently asked on another thread where I might have heard that) but now I know where I must have got that idea. Prescient point by you a while back. As to Troy vs. Ed, apples and oranges, I agree. I also agree that, regrettably, life without Troy started two or three seasons ago. Here's hoping the new guys (and new DC) can step up.

Only thing to add on Troy is the obvious: he was a game changer and made LeBeau look smarter than he may have been. Kudos to 4-3 sets, seems like the Steelers have the personnel, what is Butler thinking?
Has Butler actually told us some things as he signed Lemon, and probably quietly advised Troy and Ike to hang up their helmets?
Great to read your speaking truth to the Baltimorons.

Sad to see Troy go,but it was time. A true superstar in his day that gave us, like so many other Steelers, many thrills. Happy trails buddy.
