I never miss a Mill write up after any game and he never disappoints much like Dick's defense has the last three years. The spot on sarcasm keeps me in stiches. How can you not love a line like "Giving up larger cushions than a furniture store on a Memorial Day fire sale". or "pisses away a lead faster than a skunk pisses on an attacker". Outstanding Mill.

Love the point about finally hitting a receiver in stride on a deep pass.

So we have this big tall speedster of a receiver, something Ben has begged for, for years, and we finally see him hit, in stride, for a big TD. Great! But then look how Cincy uses their stud receiver to rack up 200+ yards on us, with lots of deep passes from the likes of Andy Dalton. You really have to wonder what's up. I mean the W is nice and all, but with the likes of our D, we had better be putting up 35 points plus per game al the time. Bell has emerged as one of the best RB's, AB is one of the top receivers, and between Bryant and Wheaton we are solid at receiver. We are sporting 3 TE's on the roster. The o-line is finally serviceable after years of top draft picks. Yet we only had 17 points through the 3Q. If not for Dalton's fumble, and the subsequent shift of momentum, this game could have gone to the Bungles.

Our D is just pathetic. No way we go deep in the playoffs with this bunch, without developing an offense that is prolific at putting points on the board. Get past the Doncos in Denver or the Patsies in Foxboro without racking up at least 40 points? Not happening.

Lots of chuckles. Steelers are 8-2 when Ben not injured. Keep him upright and even with a D that is don't squeeze the Charmin soft, he could lead the Steelers to be the last team to have a victory this season. Seriously, marriage, fatherdom has made him a general on the field. He got Bryant and Wheaton involved in the game. It paid off big time with the bomb to Martavis.
While everybody knows that Ds usually win the SB, SF proved that wasn't always the case with Montana, Rice, and Craig. This Steelers O could matchup with 49ers best O.
D played ok. Ike got tooled twice but Chincy did not get much else going offensively. That is adequate with a clicking O scoring 6 solid tds against a better than average D.

This team can go as far as Big Ben can put 30+ points on the board-- but don't jerk yourself off, it isn't a championship team. That defense just cannot hold up against better QBs and Brady will absolutely rip it a new one. However... hmmm next year... there are some things to build on at least. Get a real Left Tackle, find another RB to take the load off of Bell so he doesn't have to take the pounding as the only back on the team. But you have to draft corners, a safety and a real outside linebacker who can rush the passer. All of the first round picks on defense and it is your problem.. that is not good.

The head coaching decision making is just BIZZARE..and a detriment to the team.
Tomlin's record is barely 500 since 2011.
No other coach in the NFL inadvertently hands the Patriots a starting RB, for a run to the SB and screws his team down the stretch in the process by carrying one experienced RB ….

With today's parity in the NFL and our recent scheduling the last 3 years, we would have made the playoffs every year.......if not for Mr Obvious…..
Bell just joined Walter Peyton and is on pace to set the all time yardage record, AB is the best receiver in the NFl and Roethlisberger will be over 5000 yards..the Steelers offense is the best in the NFL..and they blew games to the Jets, Tampa and NO?.............................................................with 3 potential league MVPs!
His roster mismanagement and poor clock management is insane at times.., player evaluation, draft and development is the worst ever in Steelers history under Tomlin (IF YOU THINK IM EXAGGERATING, SPEND 10 MINUTES AND STARE AT THE LIST AT THE END OF THIS POST) and its just starting to rear its ugly head as NEXT YEAR, most of Cowhers players will finally be gone , IT WILL BE WORSE due to Tomlin's incompetence (if that's conceivably possible).......To be fair though, it’s not all Tomlin's fault but considering Colbert's (documented) excellent track record with Cowher, Tomlin bares most of the blame.....About three of the Steelers starters on defense have been acquired in the last few years., J. Jones replaced Woodley, Spence, Jason Worilds, assigned the task of filling James Harrison's shoes, was drafted in 2010 and at 9.5 million is a disaster who tomlin played out of the position for years.... Cortez Allen, who Tomlin chose to replace Keenan Lewis, was drafted in 2011, should have been pulled last year and is a bust not even playing anymore. (better late than never for Tomlin's genius evaluation)..Undrafted Steve McLendon, Casey Hampton's successor, joined the Steelers in 2010 and is injured and non-productive like most of the defense and SHARKNADO IS MIA, It was the first time in 40 years the Steelers traded a future draft pick. That's how badly tomlin wanted Thomas..(LIKE ARCHER THIS YEAR).. The rest of the Steelers former or current defensive starters entered the NFL in 2009 or earlier.
Ziggy Hood was drafted in 2009. LaMarr Woodley and Lawrence Timmons were drafted in 2007. Troy Polamalu and Ike Taylor were taken in 2003. Larry Foote and Brett Keisel were chosen in 2002.
Ryan Clark wasn't drafted, but he came into the league in 2002 with the New York Giants. Free agents disaster Mitchell and Cam (Hamster) Thomas aren't even worth mentioning beyond this. Shazier barely even played yesterday most likely since Spence is better and then you have Mr two times Wilie Gay........Other defensive slugs drafted during the Tomlin era include : R4 Ryan McBean DT, R6 Ryan Mundy DB, R3 Bruce Davis LB, R6 Ra'Shon Harris DT, R5 Joe Burnett DB, R7 Doug Worthington DT, R5 166 Stevenson Sylvester LB, R5 Crezdon Butler DB, R4 Thaddeus Gibson DE, R5 Chris Carter DL, R3 Curtis Brown CB, R7 Terrence Frederick CB, R4 Alameda Ta'amu DT, R7 Nicholas Williams DT, R6 Vince Williams LB, R5 Terry Hawthorne CB, R5 Shaquille Richardson CB (17 draft picks!)

I agree with a lot of what you say, Is, but not the stuff about Blount. When a pot smoking, lazy, selfish, locker room cancer wants to drag your franchise RB down with him, you cut him the fuck loose. PERIOD.

I say good riddance, wherever he ended up.
