Steelers 7th Round Pick Massachusetts TE Rob Blanchflower

Postby thesteelhammer » Sat May 10, 2014 6:02 pm

with the 230th over all and their final pick the steelers selected Massachusetts TE Rob Blanchflower

solid if unspectacular 7th round pick. good run blocker and pass protector with good hands, but not much speed or route running ability. Good size at 6'4" 256. 24 years old already.
Fills a need.

I didn't know anything about him until I read your rundown of the pick, yet I accurately guessed that he was a good blocker.

This is why even if Ebron was around for The Steelers 1st Round pick, I still don't think they would've taken him. Or even if he slid somehow in their laps to Round 2, they would've passed there as well. As soon as I heard the knock on E.E. is that he wasn't a good blocking TE, I knew there was almost no chance he'd land here.

TE in the Stiller O stands for Tackle Eligible. Decent last round pick up. He will probably also help on ST.
