5th round Pick Illinois CB Terry Hawthorne

Postby thesteelhammer » Sat Apr 27, 2013 2:58 pm

6'0 tall, 195 pounds, 4.44 speed.
It all sounds good, except he kind of under achieves given his physical talents and just doesn't stand out.
Didn't take that developmental step his senior year.

Biggest concern is that he is injury prone.
Tackles with his head down which led to nasty concussion against Wisconsin this year.

That said, decent pick in round 5 for our needs.

Our Own Steel Haven had Hawthorne as a 4/5 round value.

I like him. I don't think he'll see anything but Special teams action, but I like the possibilities in his second year. He kind of reminds me of Ike when he came to the team in the 2003 Draft.
