good article Stiller Mailman. Maybe the Stiller organization will realize the offense and its real problem... the offense coordinator. Our offense has been successful despite Arians 3rd grade advise on the offensive side. Maybe the Stillers will have some balls and fire his ass like the 49ers did with their coach? Who is Harvey Clayton?

Good points - except I disagree with you for saying Tomlin going for a field goal is a "nutless call."

For two weeks in a row, the Steelers have been epic failures on fourth and one. They don't have a proven power back, and the offensive line is weak and disorganized. Faneca and the Bus don't play here any more, and they ain't comin' back.

You make the short-yardage decisions not with your testicles, but with your cranium. And you take into account not only your chances of making the necessary yardage, but the score and other elements of the game situation.

Considering how the defense has kept people out of the end zone all year long, a field goal means more to the Steelers than it does to other teams. The games are low-scoring, and you don't want to miss a chance to put points on the board. Three field goals from the offense - and a safety by the D - were all they needed to beat San Diego.

Anyway, welcome to the board, and good post!

Solid points for the most part, and I cannot really agree much with kicking a field goal on 4th and 1, but when the offense inspires no confidence in the coaching, and the OC is a piece of rotting smegma, I can see Tomlin's point for doing so.

OK ill try to evaluate this mailmans approach to being a coach.

First....big ben isnt running so isnt as successful? Now we know why you get the big bucks as a mailman...... BIG BEN is not running as much because he separated his throwing shoulder in game number one. you dont run with an injury like that as a qb. Its very very dangerous. Plus ....as a side note to this...remember his qb sneak for a td? re injured shoulder.....

ok next subject....

pump faking over and over....whats wrong with that? either his WRs are open or not....pump faking has nothing to do with anything except psyching out the dbs.

now if you say he holds onto the ball too long ....which has been done ad nauseum we could talk about that...

next dennis dixon.....who would you de activate to activate dixon? and if you did de activate this person....what would dixon do? be a WR? is he any good at that? does he have the correct number? he might have to change his uniform number to line up as a WR....not totally sure on that point.
and why would you want to risk our third WR on pr or kr duty? just put in an rb like they have been doing. dennis dixon is very tall and skinny. you dont want to break him. and no im not joking. we drafted him as a qb replacement of charlie batch. in the fifth round...a steal....we dont need him getting any season ending injury that could follow him forever ala willie reid....... no way...batch was a steal and way too valuable for that.

next the woodley fine....yea that was bogus....but campbell fumbling isnt going to change why they FINED woodley. fining a player and calling a penalty ARE TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS. You need to brush up a bit on your nfl officiating mailman.....

lastly the fourth and one field goal.... redskins and colts are two differnt teams...the steelers took a risk at a game starting onside kick on the redskins because of the redskins offense...its not as good as the colts and jason campbell is more easily contained than peyton manning.....

lets not compare apples to oranges. we have seen our team miss a td trying to run it in on the one yard line ..... why give the colts the ball on the one when we can get three free points ....ON FOURTH DOWN.....

it wasnt the end of the game and we were shutting down the colts offense good enough to go for the points and hope for the best once the colts get the ball.

ps welcome to stillers.com where everyone is a fucking expert

Yo Hi5Steelers chill out man. This guy is just posting his opinion about what he thinks about his team. Don't attack his job or how much he makes. Don't make it seem like you are the smartest one on this site by saying "let me evaluate this one." Seriously chill out man I never saw one steeler fan bash another steelers fans thoughts. No hard feelings man.

Go Steelers! :sufootballhelmet:
