I was checking sack totals for Harrison and Woodley to see where they ranked (Harrison in a 3-way tie for second in the league with 10, Woodley is #5 with 9.5), and I saw that Joey Porter leads the league with 11.5 sacks.

What's the deal? Did someone hook him up to the Rejuvenation Machine or something? Is he only playing on passing downs now and just going all out on the QB?

He didn't seem to show anywhere near that capability two years ago.

Joey is playing opposite of big Matt Roth, who really is occupying other team's attention more so far.

Best wishes for Joey though, I'm glad he got a nice payday, and is playing well this year.

Yeah, I had mixed feelings when we let him go. I knew I'd miss his constant jawing the the Bengals players (and I do), but like most people here, I felt his production was slipping and didn't really warrant a contract renegotiation.

Never would have dreamed that he'd be on pace for over 20 sacks at the midpoint of the season.

Joey in rare form these days. He started with Brandon Marshall calling him soft etc. Marshall retorts were semi-amusing had they not come from such a thug. Joey dancing in clubs without his shirt on is really no surprise. Saying he has a popcorn body was funny. Now Joey going after Matt Jones saying he's the one who should be fined and suspended over his cocaine use not players like Porter who just got fined for criticizing officials. Porter's got a point there...Jones only got 3 games for cocaine possession. That's pretty soft penalty. Congrats on the comeback season Peezy

God bless him for doing well, but his last two years here were dog shit and he in no way deserved the cash Miami was willing to pay him at the time. I don't know what woke him up, maybe Parcells' foot on his neck, but I love to see him at his best.

If Porter hadn't been released, what would the Stillers be getting out of Harrison these days? Certainly not Pro Bowl seasons. I don't think we lose anything by having 92 on the field instead of 55. And if we had both on the field together, what about Woodley?

we could have locked up porter as a backup for a reasonable amount. Joey Porter straight up said he was not made any offer at all and that he wanted to retire a steeler.
