Holmes Let His Teammates Down

Postby Homer J » Sun Oct 26, 2008 10:12 pm

Goddamn it, they played their heart out.

Clark knocked himself out of the game on a great hit that could have been a game-saver. Ike got off the mat to return.
They were down to their sixth and seventh DB in there. Their long snapper and punter were both hurt. How often does that happen, and how the hell can you plan for that? Who the fuck could blame Silverback? That shit happens. It's a fucking shame they had to lose, especially with such a great defensive performance. Kudos to everyone on the D, from LeBeau on down. (Hear that, Mill? LeBeau did a fantastic job this week.)

Ben shat the bed, but some of his middle distance throws were so off line that I think he was actually hiding or masking something. He can be bad, but he's not scattergun. He was today. Something wasn't right.

The OL opened some good holes, and Moore played well. Heath Miller's block on the TD run was a classic. The OL protected Ben as well as they could, but the Giants played a lot of one-on-one pass defense, opting for the extra pass rush. Against that, often outnumbered, the OL did reasonably well. Ben and his receivers failed to adjust.

Arains sucks. That's a given.

But I say it's that asshat Smokey Holmes. Driving his damn Thugmobile through Thugville with a party pack of Blunts, and thinking our Politically Incorrect Pittsburgh Police won't stop him? He's not only selfish. He's dumber than a fucking tree. If his stupid ass was out there, the Jints wouldn't have tried playing one-on-one in the secondary, and it would have been a different ball game.

Shit.

FYI - Holmes admitted he let his team down in an appology on the "official" site.
