Power Rankings (week 14)

December 09, 2009 by Steel Haven

.2.Indianapolis Colts12-0Tied the 2006-2008 Patriots for most consecutive regular season wins with 21.
.1.New Orleans Saints12-0Remained undefeated in OT thanks to a shanked 23 yarder field goal miss by the newly unemployed Suisham.
.4.San Diego Chargers9-3Rejuvenated Broncos not giving them any breathing room.
.3.Minnesota Vikings10-2Could another December collapse for Favre be in the Cards? (pun intended, which just makes it sadder)
.5.Cincinnati Bengals9-3Lewis' 55th win tied him for second all time in franchise history with team founder Brown only 6 behind Wyche.
.8.Green Bay Packers8-4Overcame 11 penalties for 175 yards thanks in part to the Ravens being flagged 12 times for 135 yards. The 310 combined penalty yards tied for second most in NFL history.
.9.Arizona Cardinals8-4Impressively held Purple Jesus to 19 yards on 13 carries.
.10.Philadelphia Eagles8-4Vick threw and ran for his first TDs since 2006 in his Atlanta homecoming.
.13.Denver Broncos8-4Righted the ship just in time for the trip to Indianapolis not to be a must win.
.15.New York Giants7-5Stayed alive by improving to 3-1 in the NFC East with a sweep of the Cowboys.
.6.Dallas Cowboys8-4December woes continue.
.7.New England Patriots7-5Lost consecutive games for the first time since November 2006. Failure to convert a 4th down in the 2nd quarter from the Dolphins' 6 yard line ended up being the difference in a 1 point game.
.18.Jacksonville Jaguars7-5Won for the first time this season without MJD scoring a TD.
.19.Miami Dolphins6-6Sparano remained undefeated in December as a head coach. Maybe the Cowboys can hire him in the off season.
.20.New York Jets6-6Revis sealed the game with his 5th interception of the season and held the streaking TO to 3 catches for 31 yards. If only the Jets hadn't traded up to beat the Steelers to Revis.
.11.Baltimore Ravens6-6First team since the 2001 Giants to be penalized 5 times in a single game for pass interference. Lead the league with 13 pass interference penalties.

.14.Tennessee Titans5-7Johnson tied Campbell's franchise record of 7 straight 100 yard games.
.16.Atlanta Falcons6-6Saw their 8 game home winning streak come to an end. Desperately need Ryan back for next week's visit by the Saints.
.22.Carolina Panthers5-7Turned Freeman's 5 interceptions and Stewart's 120 yards rushing into a victory despite absence of Williams. Moore threw 2 interceptions in the absence of Delhomme which was at worst a wash.
