Jackers 35, Stillers 25...... Oct 26, 2025 …………Game # 7
Stillers-Jackers Postgame Analysis and Grades
The 4-2 Stillers hosted the 4-1-1 Jackers on SNF. The Stillers kicked off to start the game. The Jackers kicker missed 2 FGs in the 1H, which allowed the Stillers to have a comfy 16-7 lead at the half. But the Jackers stormed back in the 3Q, and then totally dominated the 4Q, cruising to a 10-point win over Mike Stoogelin and the Steelers.
Due to the late-nite nature of this game, along with a funeral on Monday AM, this will be a succinct report.
Grades:
QB: Rodgers got the start. Seemed to be in a decent groove in the 1H, but drives kept bogging down. DK didn’t help him by failing to haul in a long TD pass. The 2H was pretty abysmal, as Rodgers got sacked a few times and seemed timid in the pocket, and the offense did very little until a late TD drive. He got rabidly outplayed by Love. C
RB:
Warren – Had some stellar runs, but had only 13 rushes, which ain’t nearly enuf. B
Kaleb J. – rotted the pine.
Gainwell – took a plunge wide, early 2Q, and gained 8 on a solid run. Clumsily fumbled the ball to GB with 5 minutes left in the game to seal the loss. Inexcusable. C-
FB: rarely used.
WR:
Metcalf – failed to haul in a well-thrown deep ball in the EZ, 2Q. Should have been 6 points there. Snared a short slant for a TD, late 2Q. Flagged for Unsp conduct, 4Q, creating a 3d & 17 when the offense had created a 3d & 2. Very, very stupid. Had 5 grabs for 55, which ain’t nowhere near enough for a WR1. C
Austin – dropped a 0-step hitch, late 2Q. What a putz. Juggled a quick pass, 3Q, and gained 0 yards. Had a grab in garbage time late in the game. Is a complete zero as a WR2. D+
Wilson – grabbed a deep flag route off a Rodgers scramble, 1st series, for 45 yards. Failed to out-joust the DB on a 3rd down inc pass, early 3Q. Grabbed a TD pass just before the 2MW, 4Q, although he had the ball stripped out and the initial call on the field was Inc pass. Those 2 big plays offer some hope. B
Skowronek – grabbed a 13-yard pass, 2Q. Otherwise did nothing.
Scott Miller – sat out due to a finger injury.
TE:
Pat FryBoy – flagged for an illegal shift, out of sheer laziness, 1Q. Got injured, early 3Q, while getting tackled after a 1 yard reception. He did come back, though. Had 3 grabs for 13, which ain’t nowhere near good enough for a starting TE making $14M per season. D+
Jonnu Smith – grabbed a dumpoff on 3d & 13, gained like 9. Foolishly and clumsily dropped the late 2-point grab in the EZ, which kept the Steelers down by 10 with 2:07 left in the game. C-
Darnell – Aside from drawing a PI flag on a late 2-pointer, did nothing in the passing game. Okay blocking. C
Con Heyward – did nothing.
Spence Anderson – as a Tackle eligible, snared a 5 yard pass, 1st series. Maybe King Arthur Smith will cleverly feed him the ball more often.
OL: Overall, the line (Jones, Seumalo, Frazier McCormick, Fautanu) had an adequate game. Warren and Gainwell had some nice holes to run through. Rodgers was sacked a few times, albeit at least 2 of those were coverage sacks. The OL was probably the 12th highest factor why this team lost tonite. B
DL:
Heyward – Got a rare solo, 1Q, on a line plunge up the gut that gained 2 yards. In the 2Q, got an assist on a gut plunge for 3 yards. Finished the 1H with 1 solo and 1 A.
Had some solos and As in the 2H --
1-yd Run
10:54 - 3rd Qtr - J.Jacobs up the middle to PIT 17 for 1 yard (Ca.Heyward; P.Wilson).
2-yd Pass
9:36 - 3rd Qtr - J.Love pass short right to T.Kraft to PIT 8 for 2 yards (Ca.Heyward) [T.Watt].
4-yd Run
4:35 – 3Q - E.Wilson right guard to GB 40 for 4 yards (T.Watt; Ca.Heyward).
4-yd Run
6:23 – 4Q - E.Wilson up the middle to PIT 9 for 4 yards (Ca.Heyward).
You’ll note, of course, that this last solo and last assist were after FOUR yard gains, which is lewzing football. You win the running game effort when you stop backs for 2 or 3 years, not 4. And Scam did NOTHIING in terms of his vaunted pass rush. D+
Benton –
Ekuale – got injured, 1H, and did not return.
YaYa Black – Got some PT and did nothing. Rolled THE DONUT on the stat sheet. Anyone recall preseason, when Big YaYa was dominating FOURTH string blockers and fans were proclaiming he was the next Reggie White?
Harmon – Sadly, did nothing. 0 solos, 2 As. 4 weeks ago, he was being hailed as the next Aaron Donald. Looks more like Donald Duck. C-
LB:
Queen – The Queen was invisible ALL game long and finished with (hold yer laughter, please) ONE solo tackle. Just one. I don’t need to write anything further. F
Pey Wilson – Had some slop stops, but overall did NOTHING. My patience is running thin. D+
Watt – applied pressure while drawing an illegal hands to face flag (declined), 2Q. Flagged for a mask, late 1H. Had very meager impact. Had 2 solos, 4 As. C-
Highsmith – also applied a lick to the QB on the Watt pressure in the 2Q. At the half, had 0 solos and 0 As, while doing jak fuq all 1st half long.
Stop the presses ! Frausmith finally got his 1st tackle of the game --
6-yd Run
12:09 - 3rd Qtr - J.Jacobs left guard to PIT 20 for 6 yards (A.Highsmith). SIX yard gain, which is lewzing football.
Had 2 solos, 1 A in a ball-sucking effort. D-
Holcomb – was slow n’ feeble as fuq on the 1Q Packer TD. Did little all game long. Has no business being on the field on defense. C-
Herbig – Mostly rotted the bench, AGAIN. Had 2 solos. Inc.
Sawyers – did nothing.
DB
Joey Porter Jr. - weak-assed tackle attempt on Kraft after a short grab; allowed extra 22 yards of RAC.
Flagged for a hold that was declined, 3Q. Played ok. B-
Slay – Had some stops, but also got torched quite a bit. C
Thornhill – was clumsy as fuq on his tackling of Kraft on the long gainer, 3Q. Clumsy AF on the 33-yard lob on 3d & 7, late 3Q, which should have been an INT or at least a pass break-up. Then whiffed on a tackle of Jacobs on the short TD run, early 4Q. C-
DeShon Elliot – made a clumsy-ass play on the oddball lob to Kraft on a 3d & 4, 3Q, which Kraft then took off for a huge RAC to gain 59 yards. Got injured at end of play and did not return. Probably out for the season.
Jalen Ramsey - Had some big stops, but isn’t supporting the overall pass defense as advertised. C
Clark – slow as molasses on the 3d & 4 slant to Kraft, 4Q, which went 24 yards for a TD. C-
Spec teams:
Waitman – punted acceptably.
Boswell – booted 56-yard FG, 1Q. Booted a 50yarder, 2Q. Booted a 48-yarder, 2Q. Booted a 56-yarder, 3Q. Dude is money. A
Herbig took a silly, needless Unsp. Conduct penalty after a Steeler punt, 4Q., which gave GB a freebie 15 yards.
OC: Art Smith had an adequate 1H, with the offense moving the ball well, Of course, there was too much FG kicking and not enough TDs, but it was adequate. The 2H was pure horse manure. GB made adjustments and Arthur was clueless AF to counter it. I also wasn’t fond of the 1Q little out pass to Spence Anderson, which gained 7. Sure, it gained adequate yardage. Still, it was too cutesey for my taste. It showed King Arthur getting too cute, when this offense needs some REAL plays and some REAL production from a WR2 and a WR3, and its starting TE. D-
DC: Austin had 10 days after the Cinci debacle to get problems fixed. He apparently spent that time reading comic books and watching cartoons. NOTHING got fixed.
Armed with a comfy 16-7 lead in the 2Q, Austin allowed GB to march 90 yards on 9 plays to make it a 16-14 lead. Then GB reeled off more TD drives, all while Love completed TWENTY consecutive passes in the 2H. 20 !! The TE, Kraft, got blisters on his hands and feet from catching so many pigskins and running for huge RAC yards. Unacceptable. F
HC: Mike Asslin had the 10 days to right the ship of the most highly paid D in the NFL. Instead, at home, they got gashed by the Jackers in the 2H, looking like a JV squad against the varsity. Pure dog manure. This is Mike Asslin’s defense, and it smells badly right now. F-
Synopsis: A hideous home loss, 10 days after the whipping received from Cinci. Had NE not fumbled the ball every 5 minutes, the Steelers would have allowed 35+ points in that game as well. You cannot win in a sustained manner in the NFL while allowing 32 to 35+ points per game. Just can’t. This is losing football, led by a loser of a head coach.
