OSU draft prospects Vol

OSU draft prospects Vol.2

Weve taken a look at the WRs so lets stick with the OFFENSE:

LG #65 Mike Gurr 67" 290 a solid player, but probably not much more than a back up. I dont see him getting drafted.

RG #55 Tam Hopkins 65" 305 was a top prospect coming out of high school, but never lived up. Again probably not much more than a back up. Could be a late round pick, but I dont see him getting drafted.

RT #75 Henry Fleming 66" 305 Flabby, weak, and cant handle speed rushers. Time for him to get on with his lifes work.

RB #27 Jerry Westbrooks a powerful tailback with limited speed. Reminds me of Huntley with more heart and more power, fewer fumbling problems, but slightly less speed. Was buried on depth chart. Isnt expected to be drafted, but would be a good camp signing. Probably an eventual XFL player.

RB #43 Derek Combs 60 197, probably 4.4 speed. Former Mr. Ohio Football, and buckeye starter. Michael Wiley type back (poor mans Marshall Faulk) good hands lots of speed, but limited power and durability. You wont see him on many "experts" draft boards or mock drafts, but I expect him to be drafted on the 2nd day.

K #47 Dan Stultz 60" 205 Came a long way while a buckeye, but not NFL caliber.

Now the DEFENSE:

DE #94 Rodney Bailey 63" 270 potential. Decent pass rusher and against the run. probably a late round pick and back up.

DE #60 Brent Johnson 63 255 not fast enough to be a pass rush specialist, not big enough for every down. Big Heart, knack for making big plays and blocking kicks. Probably too slow to make switch to OLB. Similar to former buckeye DE Mike Finkes.

DT #79 Ryan Pickett 63" 290 Junior starter is leaving early, but hasnt been projected any higher than a 3rd round pick. A solid prospect, and run stuffer, but doesnt strike me as a future Pro Bowler.

DT #73 Joe Brown 66" 285 Back up who worked his way into DT rotation. To tall for 3-4 defense.

CB #20 Nate Clemmons 511" 190 Has been projected as a late 1st rounder. Great tackler in mold of Bills Antoine Winnfield. Great in coverage also, but loses concentration and gets beat deep at least once a game. Had some real bad games this year. Id be very hesitant to draft him in the 1st.

CB #3 David Mitchell 61" 195 also played some FS. Probably 4.5 speed, but might have 4.45. Isnt on most "experts" draft boards or any mock drafts, but theyve missed players the scouts havent missed before. Would be a great pick for the Steelers as a FS in round 6 or 7.
