Hard Hat Award (Game #3, @ Tampa)

October 03, 2010 by Still Mill

Hard Hat Award (Game #3, @ Tampa)

Stiller LB James Harrison and OG Doug Legursky are the co-winners of the weekly Hard Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough, hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still mill.

Harrison gave his typical, Hard Hatted effort in the whipping of Tampa.    The hits, block-sheds, and tackles he delivered were simply brutal.

Legursky, who was born in Frankfurt, Germany (1 of Mills favorite cities, having lived there 3 years), got his first career start and gave a very solid, tough effort.   He helped open many a hole, which enabled the Stiller ground game to gash the vaunted Tampa defense to the tune of 201 yards rushing.  Legursky impressed The Committee enough that Trai Essex might very well have a hard time regaining his starting job, and even if he does, one slip-up should force the Stillers coaching staff to get the former Thundering Herd, Legursky, into the game.

Kudos to Harrison and Legursky for winning the Hard Hat Award.  Wear the Hard Hat proudly, fellas!
