Hard Hat Award (Game #8, @ Cinci)

Stiller LB Larry Timmons and LB Jason Worilds are the co-winners of the weekly Hard Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough, hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still mill.

Timmons had yet another stellar effort, leading the defense in a just another very strong effort.   He adroitly intercepted a pass, and in the 2Q, he led the charge to stop Grisham on 3d &4 to force a punt.   Timmons also personally blew up a 3rd & short to force a FG in the 3Q.   In total, he was the best defensive player on the field.

Worilds rotted the bench on defense, but played out of this worild (sic) on spec teams, where he turned in 1 of the best coverage work in the past 20 years.   On the opening KO, he recovered a Cinci fumble to set the tone for the game, and Worilds never took his foot off the gas after that.  He had a solo stop in KO cover in the 1Qand then made a solo stop in punt coverage in the 3Q.  Worilds then had yet another solo stop in KO coverage in the 4Q.   For those who dont study the game, or for those whove never played on coverage teams in tackle football, it may be difficult to grasp just how hard it is to make 1 or 2 solos in coverage, what with all the traffic, blockers, fancy returners, and so on.   This was simly a lights-out effort by Worilds.

Kudos to Timmons and Worilds for winning the Hard Hat Award.  Wear the Hard Hat proudly, fellas !
